Subject: August RP Challenge!
Date: Sun Aug 1 17:04:18 2010
===========================================================================
This month's rp challenge is to roleplay related to your title!

* If you have a title, IC faith title, or title quest:
    Roleplay with someone about it!
* If you have no title or quest yet:
Roleplay about what title you think you deserve/would request.

How do I redeem my awesome RP Point?
Mail me a letter (object) explaining from an IC perspective the title, how
the title fits you, and the name of one of the people you spoke to.

* No clue about a title?:
Roleplay with someone looking to do the above!
Mail me a letter (object) explaining from an IC perspective the name of who
you talked to and what you learned about their title/what it means to you.

For those who might be curious, last month's RP challenge brought in an
amazing 19 letters from 7 specializations, with more who RPd than turned in
letters. Let's see if we can beat that record with this month's challenge!

July 2010

Spec RP Challenge run for a 2nd time. Instructions clearer and requirements were
made more lax, merely requiring you to RP with someone about your spec and write
to Zyanya with an IC letter explaining what your spec means to you.

Subject: ITEM CONTEST!!
Date: Tue May 25 19:52:43 2010
----------------------------------------------------------------
We are excited to announce a Item Hunt Contest!

This contest will continue until we recognize that you guys have found most
all items in game of the contest requirements and will be announced/this
news removed at that time.

Every TWO WEEKS there will be winners!!

Within the game find objects which fit ANY of the following criteria:
1) Items which you can pick up and have no 'material' set. Identifying will
   show you this information.
2) Items which are way too heavy or light.
3) Key with no 'View the Past' information. Keys should have an indication
of what area/zone they are from using 'View the Past'.
4) Items that are worth too much or too little for the effort needed to
   obtain.
5) Items dropped by mobs of a much higher or lower level than the item
   itself.

Here is what you have to send to Azshanna in order to be a winner:
1) A minimum of 5 objects
2) A container with the objects inside of it.
3) A physical letter inside the container explaining what is wrong with
each of the items sent. IE Item 1 "a blue shoe" has no material set.
4) If the object cannot be saved add it to the list sent above with **
surrounding the item along with an indication of where the item can be
    found.
5) ADD YOUR NAME TO THE CONTAINER AND/OR THE ITEM LIST

Now for the fun part.. REWARDS!!!
Every two weeks the items will be counted and logged, at that point
they will also be fixed in the game. First place winner will get the
first choice from the reward list. Subsequent winners will get 2nd
choice, etc, until all items are given out. For instance if Joe is the
first place winner and he chooses reward B (from a list of A-F) then
Susie who is the 2nd place winner will then get to choose from the same
list as Joe, minus his choice of reward B.

REWARD LIST:
1) Imm Token
2) 10 Years Youth/Age
3) 500 plat
4) 300 plat
5) 100 plat
6) Token for Oaction on object
7) Fertility pill
8) Token for 'View the Past' on object

Contest starts today the 25th of May. First rewards/winners will be
chosen on 6/9/10. If a GLOBAL occurs this contest will be paused and
will resume two weeks after said GLOBAL ends (no booing, GLOBALS ROCK).

DO NOT SPAM IMMS WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS CONTEST OR ABOUT OBJECTS.
IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION SEND IT TO AZSHANNA AND SAVE THE OTHER'S SANITY!

March 2010

Arawn is doing major changes to combat, skills, spells and trees in general.

* Combat system revamp

* Specialization changes, new specializations

Changes will be added to the Changes page as soon as Dredor has time
to do so and is badgered into doing it ;) (he has already been poked :-p)

[News 50/50]
To: all you and me and everyone we know
From: Zyanya
Subject: March RP of the Month!
Date: Mon Mar 1 03:02:06 2010
===========================================================================
There are many reasons why people pick the specialization they do for their
character. Although roleplay opportunities are available for any of them
(save maybe that pesky spec all?), few will roleplay related to their spec
and few specs are actually regularly used in roleplay.

Regardless of what reasons you had for choosing your spec, I'm here to
offer you a deal:

You (yes, you!) go out and roleplay your spec and I will award you a
shiny new ROLEPLAYING POINT for it!

"But," You protest, "This is too good to be true! There must be a catch!"
Yes, I'm afraid there are some important details to this deal:
* The opportunity is ONLY available for the month of March 2010!
* You must roleplay TWICE related to your specialization with at least TWO
  other people EACH time.
(e.g. Roleplay once with 2+ people, roleplay again with 2+ people)
* In order to redeem this deal, you must send a note to ZYANYA describing:
  - The specialization you roleplayed
  - At least 3 specific examples from EACH roleplay that demonstrate that
    you roleplayed the specialization
  - A list of names of the people you roleplayed with (2+ from EACH RP)
* Examples of what a note like this should look like is in HELP MARCH RP
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you look at these examples before writing!

"Oh noes!" You may be saying. "I do not have a spec! Whatever will I do?"
Have no fear, you too can participate! Simply pick a spec you'd like to RP
and go for it! Please include this information in your redemption note.

You do NOT have to be mechanically able to spec in a spec to RP it.

And, I know a few of you are rapidly losing hope as you gaze mournfully at
the spec listed in your score, lamenting the day you chose to spec something
you later regretted worse than the time you thought it was a good idea to
attend a Jonas Brothers Concert, but don't want to RP it or have the QPs to
change it (yet!).
Don't worry! I will forgive you and allow you to pick a different spec that
you would enjoy RPing. Again, just let me know what spec you chose to RP in
your note to me.

Finally, I would be especially interested in seeing some specializations
roleplayed that are not frequently roleplayed out. There may be a special
reward in it for those who choose to take the less beaten path.

All of the above is available in this news note AND HELP MARCH RP.
Any questions, feel free to ask Zyanya. She will be happy to address them!
Good luck and have fun!

===========================================================================
My Fellow Lensmoorians,

Many of us have come across famed or spectacular samples of art or pieces
of history in our lives. Few have the means to display these pieces, and so
they gather dust, sitting unused and unappreciated.

Such is a terrible destiny for items of wonder which, if displayed, would
offer education to those of our lands, young and old alike.

I write to you this day in search of these items, on behalf of the path of
Patriotism and Prosperity.

While the original would, of course, be preferable, I am sure replicas
could be made of some items so that the original could remain with the
owner.

Should you have an artifact of historical significance, or one of
particular uniqueness or beauty which you would be willing to have
displayed for your countrymen, please send word so that I might be able to
evaluate the item.

Should it be chosen (and many shall) your contribution will, of course, be
rewarded.

My Illustrious Lensmoorians,

I am in need of statues to represent the likeness of the Heroes of
Lensmoor. I wish to give honor to them by placing them within My Bastion.

There is yet need of statues to represent Pallandro, Veronica, Vanir, Kans,
Goldenscale, Minerva, Amelsia, Loragain, Marteau, Indra, Ezme, Lowen and
Swen.

Should you send me a worthy representation you will be compensated for your
efforts.

Subject: Storytelling Contest: Part Three (really!)
Date: Tue Jul 28 17:47:47 2009
===========================================================================
My apologies for having to cancel at the previous dates. This time, I
really, really will hold the contest unless something catastrophic happens,
like my temple being blown up (again). Assuming that all goes well, the
contest will happen in a few days time (OOC: this Friday the 31st at 7:30
pm system time). For those who have forgotten, the rules/guidelines are as
follows:

1) Your story must be crafted by you alone. Do not steal another person's
work.

2) Stories may be fictional or non-fictional, but I expect them to have
some thought put into them.

3) I am the sole judge of this contest, so those attending would be wise to
avoid offending me.

4) Lensmoorians and Antrippans alike are welcomed to the contest. As such,
I expect civility. If you can't at least pretend to be polite, then don't
come. I will be more than happy to transfer those whom cannot make the
journey on foot.

I will award prizes based on how many people present and the quality of
their storytelling. First place will receive a boon (within reason), 100
platinum, and public recognition. Second place will receive a token of my
appreciation and public recognition. If there's a third place, I'll make up
the reward for that when the time comes.

The contest will take place at the Kyritis Stockade Campsite. I'll be more
than happy to transfer anyone who cannot make the journey by themselves.

July 31, 2009

This event is over as of Midnight system time Friday, July 31st, 2009 but you can still receive these achievements.

Subject: RP Challenge for June/July: RP Achievements!
Date: Sun May 31 23:12:54 2009
===========================================================================
There are 6 new Roleplay-oriented achievements available! In an effort to
promote these, we are holding a RP challenge for the months of June and
July and giving a RP point when you redeem one of these achievements!

There is an IC book of mortal achievements describing the criteria you need
to meet in order to successfully earn these RP achievements. This book can
be found in one library on each continent. If you have any questions about
the criteria, feel free to ask!

You must use the request board to request any of these RP achievements. An
available imm will then check to see if you meet the requirements.

Remember this is available through both June and July so you have two
months to meet the requirements for an extra RP point. Your last eligible
day to request a RP achievement and still fall under the RP challenge is
July 31st, 2009. You can of course still request the achievements after
this date, they just will not fall under this RP challenge any longer.
There is no limit to the number of RP achievements you can request and
redeem for this RP challenge.
You can check out HELP ACHIEVEMENT and HELP RP CHALLENGE for more
information on achievements in general and events like these.

June 15, 2009

This event is over but contributions can still be made to the finished helpfile, help zone wishlist. Contact Zyanya or another immortal for your suggestions on what you'd like to see added.

Subject: Looking for YOUR suggestions for a Zone Wishlist!
Date: Tue Jun 9 22:09:20 2009
===========================================================================
We would like to ensure that opened zones are really adding to the game and
providing a great zone for people to explore/quest/level in. There are a
lot of things that we can improve or provide so I am putting together a
wishlist.

There is where YOU come in! I am looking for YOUR suggestions! Please write
me a note/chatter or send me a tell with your suggestions. They will be
compiled into a helpfile that will be available to both imms and players.

If you send suggestions in before midnight system time, Friday, June 19th
you have a chance to see them put into a shiny new helpfile complete with
that "new helpfile smell" AND if there are a good number of quality
submissions, I may potentially give out an immtoken or two. After the
helpfile is released I will still welcome any and all suggestions, just
without the new helpfile smell or chance for an immtoken. The best part is,
if the suggestion makes it to the wishlist, it has a fighting chance at
being incorporated into a zone!

These are a list of questions to get you thinking about the kind of stuff
that might be missing or you'd like to see in game. You are not limited to
these and I encourage suggestions not listed here.

- What are some underrepresented playable races in zones?

- Are there playable races that you would like to see with a hometown that
don't already have one? (most remorts are already noted)

- Are there any themes, concepts, histories, stories, etc. that you would
like to see continued into more zones?

- Are there non-playable races you would like to see used more in zones?

- Are there any spells or skills you'd like to see used more in zones? (for
example, giving goldie mobs reflected damage or use of view the past)

- Are there any spells or skills that are lacking mob teachers?

- Is there a lack of good in-game equipment of some kind? (There are many
aspects to consider here: flags, alignment, weapontype, armortype, jewelry,
level range, bonuses to stats, bonuses to skills or spells, etc.)

- Is there a lack of good levelling zones in a certain level range? For
what alignment? Continent? Any other things to consider?

- When exploring a zone, are there suggestions you have for things you like
to see or would like to see more of? (the way a zone's story is developed,
hidden stuff, extra descs, zonequests that appeal to people differently,
etc.)

- When questing or levelling in a zone, are there recommendations or
suggestions you have? (zone layouts, range of mob difficulty, ease of
finding mobs, etc.)

There are some suggestions that do NOT fit into this helpfile. These are better suited for the idea board.
- New spells or skills
- Tweaking stats, saves, savemod, willpower, etc.
- Changing weapon flags or points for flags
- Changing equipment flags, slots, etc.
- New shifts or mob races
- Out Of Character elements

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
